Season of Giving

This is the time of year when often there are more hardships with colder, darker days.  On the flip side, it also a season full of light where people come together to help others in need or those who are struggling.  It is a joy to receive a gift, and a bigger joy to give. 

There are several ways to give: it can be helping another person with a task they cannot do themselves, or visiting with someone who cannot get out to visit others.  There is also always a great need for food for some families.

White Rock/South Surrey Food Bank donations are down this year, as we are sure there are also many other communities in need – a simple idea is to get together with a group, or even just your own family to collect some non-perishable food items, and drop them off.  Involving your kids in the process helps them understand that everything and everyone is connected.


Semiahmoo Atom A1 and South Delta Storm A1 minor hockey teams come together

to donate 490 food items for their local food banks.

It doesn’t take much if everyone does a little.
