Patio Cover / Awning: Slope Needed

Aluminum awnings and patio covers need slope for drainage - usually you will want to have about 1/4" slope per foot of projection.  This allows your patio cover to have proper drainage. Slope of a patio cover can also be adjusted for a larger slope if you are following your roofline, for example. The awning hanger hinges to allow for the greater slope if needed.

Your awning expert can advise you on the requirements for your awning installation so that you can enjoy it for many years to come!
